Carnegie Cricket Club is deeply saddened with the passing of Former Head Senior Coach, 2nd XI Premiership player, 3rd XI Captain, Committee Member, Chairman of Selectors, Head of Recruitment and Team Mate – Tim Dodgson.
Tim came to our club in 2012/13 Season as a Head Senior Coach. It didn’t take long before he stood on people’s toes, told things how they were, and ruffled a few feathers. But Tim immediately infiltrated our hearts and became a close friend to many here, and continued to do so over the years. His personality and character was one of a kind, he drew people together and introduced groups of friendships. Cricket was a huge part of his life, and we were blessed that Tim chose to return Carnegie Cricket Club when he shifted to Murrumbeena. His input into our Junior Development Team will no doubt pave the way for current and future Carnegie Cricket Club Juniors to move forward in their cricketing careers for years to come.
We are all going to miss taking the field in the future without standing next to him in the slips or watching him playing cut shots to every type of delivery. All Carnegie Cricket Club Teams will move heaven and earth together to take home the Premierships in Tim’s Honour.
Off field Tim was larger than life and he was always around to offer advice or have a drink and a laugh at the bar.
Tim has been taken far too soon, everybody will miss Tim. The whole Cricket Club is still devastated with the news of his passing. Tim will forever be in the hearts of Carnegie Cricket Club.
Our thoughts are also with Danni, Molly, Zac and Lily. The club will be there for all of you.
Rest In Peace, Tim Dodgson, You will be sadly missed.
