Highlights
Under 11 Blue (Friday) – Luca Trumble and Luca Amodeo claimed early wickets. Aidan McMillan chimed in with a handy wicket and Angus Nicolay kept up the high standard in the field with another run out. Chasing 96 for victory, Hayden Short got us going, then Charlie Clancy settled in. Lucas Baldwin and Seamus Cockle both looked solid but with three overs to go we were 8/75. Luca Amodeo hit well to put us back in the game and Thomas Williamson guided us home.
Under 11 Gold (Sunday) – English coach Dan Smith had the boys ready and Shiv Patel struck with the first wicket. Evan Margaritis was the best of the bowlers early on, Daniel Michaels and Daniel Tucker were great in the field and Pratham Raje’s second spell was terrific. Andrew Callaghan claimed a wicket and Jacob Murphy bowled two very tight overs. Chasing 104, Charlie Clancy was in great form. Josh Finklestein looked like he was well in command before being run out but rain then drowned out the rest of the match.
Under 13 (Friday) – A two-day game, Daniel Strom took a wicket in the first over. Lachlan Priest executed a brilliant run out with a direct hit and Josh Hickman’s tight bowling was rewarded with a wicket caught by new player Nick Holten off a skied ball. We lost our way a little after the tea break and the Beenas took full toll before we got back on track with an inspirational catch from Daniel Strom off Jacob Pompeous’ bowling. Ahay Rhajwar was consistent all day and Charlie-Joe was close to hitting the stumps on several occasions. Oliver Trumble finished the day with a clean bowled and a unassisted run out off the last ball. We chase 196 this week.
