Ari Morton Achieves 250 Game Milestone

In Senior/Junior cricket 200+ games played milestones are very hard to achieve. You can play for 10 years and still maybe only play only 120 games due to weather, heat and other events like weddings and work. Also much of our play in the past was all 2 days games that make it harder again.

Long time servant of the club Ari Morton plays his 250th game this Sunday for Carnegie CC. For Ari to reach this milestone has meant many continuous years of play and missing a very small amount of games due to injury.

Ari’s first game for Carnegie was in MCA B Sunday grade led by Paul Lamb on a warm Sunday afternoon at Albert Park back in 1999. His 250th game will also be in MCA B Sunday Grade this time on a cold wet Sunday afternoon at Waverley Oval in East Malvern vs his old foe South Yarra led by none other than himself.

Ari has also served the club in many positions over the years from Vice President to general committee member, Captain and in the present day he serves as our MCA delegate. Ari has also been responsible for many members joining the club and has always been a strong supporter of club functions.

Good luck in your game this weekend and lets hope you make runs and take wickets like your first game for the club, 5 for and 40 runs!

The game starts at 12.30pm @ Waverley Oval (opposite the old Dairy Bell) Cnr Waverley and Malvern Rd, Ari would love to see people down there.
