Big Weekend of Cricket 23/01/2015

With all the teams now back on the park and most on the road to the finals, this weekends is one of the biggest of the year.

Seniors

The seniors kick off with the first XI at home to Mentone in a must win match to stay in the four. The selection changes have been made with T.Rabari up from the 2nds after a 70 & 80 in his last 2 knocks, Raj “general soreness” Bala is also back in. B Cranwell has been named 12th man for this match.

The 2nd XI is in a first vs second on the ladder match and is away to the ladder leader Mentone at Hogben. Anuj is back in and C.Shanthappa is in for his first game in the 2nd’s. The 2nd’s also welcome back Baylo and Luke Meyer.

The 3rd XI is on Sunday this week away to Mooney Valley, enjoy the drive lads.

The 4th XI are way to Monash this week at Fawkner Park, big hitting Ben “Tug Boat” Lucas is in. The skipper and team manager will be hoping not to have to pull off the great escape again this week after last week passing the opposition 9 down.

The A Grade are away to ESOCC on Sunday, last time they met there were fireworks. If you get a chance get down and support the lads. Hopefully there is no semi club function on Saturday night @ Tom Thumbs this week !

The B Sunday are at home on Sunday vs long term rivals Clayton Districts. Matt Greene has come out of semi retirement for this one such is his love for Clayton. The revolving door of skippers for this team continues with the shock recall of Elliot Cartledge after 2 knee reco’s, he will resemble “Stone Cold” Steve Austin with those big knee braces on. MG Dodgson unable to back up yet again!

Juniors

The junior director Luke is back in town and will be getting around to the games this weekend so kids perform at your best.

Friday Night:

The U-11 Gryphons are at home to Mt Waverley @ Lord3

The U-11 Colts are away to Glen Waverley

The U-13 are away to Mt Waverley Mayfield

The U-15 are at home vs Malvern @ Parker Park

Saturday:

The U-11Gold are away to Toorak-Prahran @ Gardiner Reserve. Got beaten by one run last week after giving the opposition 3 fielders, well played boys.

Good luck to all this weekend.
