Vale Jarrod Maginness

It is with much sadness that we inform you of the sudden and unexpected passing away of Jarrod Maginness. Jarrod passed away on Wednesday 23rd November and we learnt of the sad news over the weekend. Jarrod first played with Carnegie in 2011 and was always keen to put his hand up and play for our club. Along with his good efforts on the park he will be best remembered for being great for a chat and socialising with his fellow club members. In the past 2 seasons he was not able to play as often but still dropped by to catch up with the comings and goings of the club.

His passing was very sudden as he was in good health and his family is devastated. He is survived by his daughter, Chloe, who is going to secondary college next year. Jarrod’s twin sister has started a go fund me page to assist with the costs of attending:

Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to Jarrod’s family at this time. As a tribute, all senior players will wear black arm bands this weekend.
For those who can attend the funeral, it will be held on Friday 2nd December, 2.30PM, please contact the club for details.

Cost is $5.00 per player to help cover some of the costs of hiring the centre.

Vale Rohan Schreier

It is with sadness that we inform members of the passing of Rohan Schreier. Rohan was captain coach of Carnegie Cricket Club in the 2004/05 season. Many members will have also played against Rohan in the MCA in his time at ESOCC and in the VTCA when he was with Moorabbin Park, Dingley and Cheltenham. Rohan was also involved with other clubs in the southern Bayside region. He played many roles in cricket clubs in the region from being a curator, senior coach, junior coach, professional player and club delegate. Rohan like many of us loved the game of cricket and was one of the true characters of cricket in the region. Carnegie Cricket would like to pass on our condolences to Rohan’s family and friends.
