Peter Cassidy Debuts in 1st XI District Cricket

Peter Cassidy who played both junior and senior cricket with Carnegie CC made his debut in 1st XI district cricket this past weekend.

Peter transferred from Prahran to Dandenong this season to further his career at the highest level, the change has paid off with Peter being picked as a bowler in the two day match vs the Camberwell Magpies. Peter bowled well and by all reports bowled with plenty of variations and bowled very tight. His figures for the day were: 8 Overs 2 maidens 1 for 21.

This is the highest grade of cricket in Victoria below the state team and is great reward for the years of hard work Peter has put into his cricket. I’m sure most would have seen the hours that Peter has spent in the nets at Koornang Park over the years. This hard work has paid off. Peter’s family have also been constant supporters of his career and are also active members of the CCC family. Peter also has an elder brother (Ryan) at the club currently playing in the Carnegie CC second XI.

We wish Peter all the best and hope he gets many more games in the Dandenong firsts. When we get a chance we will get Peter down to have a chat to some of our younger players about the experience of playing at top level cricket.
