With a mix of two day cricket and one day cricket happening at the moment we still have still have two games in progress and the other four rnd 3 matches having been completed.
The first’s had a big win against the boys from Glenhuntly Park with young UK lad Danny Davies knocking up 73 and flashing opener Aaron Fenton knocking up 38 with the Negs putting up a big total in 40 overs of 8/202. For Negs it was one way traffic with Regan “Guava” Buckley ripping through the top order with 6/21 and Bimal Shah assisting with 2/4 to have the NCGH all out for 58.
The seconds also had a big win in the semi final replay from last season, the Negs bowling McKinnon out for 64 with Brenton “Toss” Cranwell taking the figures with 8 overs 5/17 and Glenn Murphy 8 Overs 2/7. The runs started flowing early with Andrew “Punky” Brewster 17 and Alan “Budgie” Patey 38 setting a good foundation, John Young brought it home with 61 N.O. The Negs finished up 3/134 CC.
The 3rds match is still in progress with Carnegie in the lead.
The 4ths also had a big win bowling out Burnley for 124, Dave “The Model” Goodey with the figures 4/32 and D Singh with 3/9. Carnegie chased down the runs with ease making 1/145 when the game finished early. D.Goodey again with the runs 73 and Jomesh “Chopper” James knocking up 53.
B Sunday lost in a close one in the last over 160 cc to 164 with elder statesman Tim “MG” Dodgson scoring 40 and taking 3/22.
The A grade are chasing 265 against Burnley, lets hope all get to training to chase that big total down.
