Vale Phillip Hughes

Phillip-Hughes-Wallpaper

Over the past weekend Carnegie CC teams paid tribute to Phillip Hughes in different ways. All Carnegie players and officials have been touched by his passing and he won’t be forgotten. Below are some of the images captured at the games over the past weekend. Our thoughts are with Phil Hughes’ family and close friends during this very tough time. Our thoughts are also with the Australian Cricket Team and the players that were there on the day Phil was struck.

Stockdale & Leggo Sign Boards

Our major sponsor Stockdale & Leggo will be placing sign boards again this season at the front of members houses in the Carnegie/Glen Huntly area.

Can members consider if they are able to support the club and host a sign board (standard real estate size) and get back to Patrick O’Shannessy (phone & email address are listed on the contact us page) if you can host a board. The signs will be up until the end of the cricket season and will have some promotional material on them welcoming new members to come and play at the club. Stockdale & Leggo will erect and and remove the boards so there is nothing you need to do.

It is important that we support our major sponsor with these sign boards.

A special thanks to those who hosted a board last season (the Meyer Family 2 signs, Steve Yeats and Craig McGann 1 each) and to Craig McGann who will host one again this season.

So if you are thinking about renting, buying or selling a house contact Des or Margaret Lorkin on 9571 7777.

Selection Meal Tonight

Tonight we will be having a sit down meal as the teams are read out in the rooms at Koornang Park. Kerryn and Dionne will be in the kitchen cooking up a storm, with both a Meat Hot Pot and a Vege Hot Pot on offer. The cost will be $8.00 per meal so bring along some cash for your meal. We will be eating at 7.30pm.

November 21/22

The rain has cleared for another big weekend of cricket, all the wickets should have some extra life this weekend.

Seniors

The First XI after racking up a massive 301 declared and with NCGH 7 down already will be seeking outright points at Koornang Park on Saturday.

The 2nd XI away at McKinnon are 3/55 chasing 171 with Luke Meyer and T.Rabari at the crease. Big talking Louie Turpie will be keen to post a big score and is still to come.

The dominant 4thXI after scraping in for a narrow victory last week against the Yarra’s have the Reds at Fawkner Park #2. The skipper is flying back on Saturday AM with the TM after a week on the slopes in Aspen to guide the troops, hope he is not to sore from the “snow plough”

The A Grade after copping a barrage of bodyline bowling will be looking for revenge after last week. If you get a chance have a look at the branding mark that Dan “Wally” Walton has as a reminder.

The B-Sunday are away again this time at Fawkner Park 3, with the Chap at the helm. They will be looking to bounce back after going down to Endeavour Hills last week.
