I hope I am not coming as a stranger to you, most of you, if not all, know me well and have played with me at some point of time, even if its inside the club room on wet days (and yes, we shouldn’t be playing there :)).
Carnegie as shown last year has a lot of potential and players to compete at highest level, I strongly believe that we have the fire power and skills to give any team a fierce and tough competition, we need to make few tweaks here and there and we will be unstoppable at every level. I am actually lucky that I am coming to coach the club which already have got a good foundation set by Elliot and other support staff last year.
I am looking forward to be working with you and share all my knowledge, skills and experience of premier cricket. I have experienced it first hand and so I understand that to be successful at higher level, fitness and fielding are non-negotiable and I’ll make sure you all get a professional environment and drills where you can develop and enhance your fitness and fielding skills along with match sense and together we can help club achieve new heights.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing the pre-season plan which will include normal nets sessions (at sandown) as well as specialised fitness and skill sessions. I would be open on working with some of you (or as many as I possibly can) on 1:1 basis on the areas you and I believe we need to work on, I’ll be there for you whenever you need me, so use me :). I would love to see each one of you to play as high as you possibly can. One thing I would ask in return is – your full commitment to carnegie and your fellow team mates. My motto for this season is ‘One In All In’
I would encourage you all to come to AGM on 24th June @ 7:30 pm at Koornang Park club rooms, I’ll be there and would welcome any feedback/comments/questions you may have on my vision and plans for upcoming season. I am looking forward to AGM and also a big pre-season followed by a much awaited cricket season.
