Vale Rohan Schreier

It is with sadness that we inform members of the passing of Rohan Schreier. Rohan was captain coach of Carnegie Cricket Club in the 2004/05 season. Many members will have also played against Rohan in the MCA in his time at ESOCC and in the VTCA when he was with Moorabbin Park, Dingley and Cheltenham. Rohan was also involved with other clubs in the southern Bayside region. He played many roles in cricket clubs in the region from being a curator, senior coach, junior coach, professional player and club delegate. Rohan like many of us loved the game of cricket and was one of the true characters of cricket in the region. Carnegie Cricket would like to pass on our condolences to Rohan’s family and friends.

Positions Vacant

Carnegie Cricket Club has some positions to fill for the coming 2016/17 season. These positions are very important and are of great assistance to the on field operations of the club.

Positions Vacant:

Senior Assistant Coach: In this position you will be assisting the senior coach. You will be required to attend all training sessions and implement the training plan set out by the coach. This role could also suit a current Carnegie CC Player and could be a great way to start a coaching career. The club can also assist you with gaining coaching qualifications. This is a paid role and remuneration is negotiable.

Senior Net Captain: In this role you will be running the nets during training, managing batting orders and organising bowlers. You will be assisting the coach and following the plan that he will set out for you. You will be required to attend each training session and be at the session prior to the start of training. We are looking to fill these positions ASAP. Expressions of interest can be forwarded to committee@carnegiecc.com further information and full job descriptions are also available on request.

Koornang Park Update

Hi All

Koornang Park Update Below:

New Carpet has been installed in the main social rooms and it looks fantastic.

A new security system has been installed and to be activated soon.
Flood lights were upgraded in March 2016 to give the Oval a 50 Lux training Level. (previosuly 25) Expense was covered by CBJFC
Change Rooms – A submission was lodged with Glen Eira City Council and discussions have now commenced with GECC as to the upgrading of change rooms to make them “female friendly”. The council will work together with CCC to get an outcome on this.
Solar Panels – Commitment from Kelly O’Dwyer of $15,000 to install Solar panels on the roof at Koornang Park. This was announced on the 19th of June 2016 at the rooms. This will reduce the clubs high power bills with all the fridges running during the hot summer months.
